Facts About Led Lights

LED lights are used in many different products. The name stands for Light Emitting Diode. The first LED lights were invented in the 1920s but they have been used more intensely in the 21st century. LED lights were researched by Japan and United States scientists after the 1950s and at shortly after colors were introduced for LED's.

There are many advantages of LED lights over normal lights. LED's generate more light than transitional lights. This is a great method to save energy, especially with portable devices, because a normal light would consume too much energy on a portable device that works with batteries. LED lights are small and more of them can be easily grouped together without taking too much room. They have a longer life than a normal light bulb and can function up to 1 million hours continuously. These types of lights are used in millions of products, from keyboards, traffic signs and flashlights to radios, Christmas lights and remote controls. Christmas LED lights are more expensive, but they last up to 10 times longer than normal lights.

Usually, LED lights lose life by losing their intensity gradually. But in some rare cases they can stop suddenly. The light emitted by LED's can be focused easily, without any reflectors. Unlike normal lights, LED lights maintain the same color while they function, even if they get hotter. Also, they are not affected by on and off cycling. They are strong and hard to brake which means that they won't be affected if you drop them on any surface. There are many shapes and sizes for LED lights, but more than 80% of them are in the form of a cylinder, which you may encounter on your PC monitor or remote control.
