Led Flashlights Versus Traditional Flashlights

There are two things that can go wrong with flashlights. They can run out of battery or the light bulb can malfunction. Normal flashlights have been in existence since the late 1800s and the concept hasn't really changed; but the inventions of the LED light and later developments have led to another type of flashlight. LED Flashlights have been introduced in this market in the last decade and offer advantages on both flashlight potential problems.

LED Flashlights can function for hundreds of hours with a single set of batteries because LED's don't need that much power to light up. Also, they are more durable than normal light bulbs. With normal flashlights, if the battery is not completely full the light will be dim. LED Flashlights work at the same intensity even if the battery is dying. With some LED Flashlights you can change the output level. A lower output level will give you a low intensity light and a higher level will have greater intensity. Some flashlights have up to 6 output levels. Some LED Flashlights generate heat and they have an aluminum body that can get worn. This is true for powerful LED lights but not for basic white LED's.

Most people prefer LED Flashlights over traditional ones because of their low battery consumption. When you go hiking, you usually prefer a single flashlight with one set of batteries instead of spare light bulbs and many batteries. There are a variety of options on the market, such as palm size or key-chain flashlights.

Nowadays, LED Flashlights are used in most police departments, in emergency kits and fire departments. They can cost more than traditional flashlights, but their lifespan and reliability are worth the cost.
